Manuel Noronha Andrade

CEO

Manuel joined ECS’s founding team in 2007 and is the firm’s current CEO. Throughout his career at ECS, he was directly responsible for the origination, execution, oversight, and exit of a large portion of the firm’s investments across real estate, special situations, and corporate private equity. His prior experience includes serving as Director at CGD, where he held the position of Chief of Staff for the CEO. Before that, he worked at Citigroup and its predecessor firm, Salomon Smith Barney, as part of the M&A and leveraged finance teams, based in Lisbon and London. He started his career as a summer intern at UBS in London, subsequently transitioning to work as an M&A analyst at Banco Cisf, an investment bank affiliated with BCP. Manuel holds a management degree from Católica Lisbon SBE and a Masters in Finance from the London Business School.

João Pereira Martins

João joined ECS’s founding team in 2007 and is the firm’s current CFO. Throughout his career at ECS, he held roles of increasing responsibility as an investment professional, both in the deal and operating teams, leading investments across special situations and corporate private equity, before assuming the role of CFO. In this capacity, he directly oversights the reporting, treasury management, accounting, auditing, and regulatory duties for ECS and the funds under management. He is also a Lecturer in the MSc in Finance program at Católica Lisbon SBE, where he teaches the Mergers & Acquisitions course. Prior to ECS, João was an associate at PCapital and an analyst at Millennium BCP Investment Bank. João holds a degree in Business Administration from Nova SBE.

Head of Legal

Ana is a lawyer and ECS's Head of Legal. Throughout her career she has regularly advised listed and non-listed companies on commercial and corporate law matters and has participated in several corporate restructurings, acquisitions and disposals, including cross-border transactions, representing domestic and foreign clients in various sectors, with particular emphasis on banking and insurance. Prior to joining ECS, Ana worked as partner and associate lawyer at Lisbon based law firms. Ana holds a law degree from the University of Lisbon School of Law and postgraduate studies in securities law and insurance law from the University of Lisbon School of Law.

Ana Pereira joined ECS in 2011 and is currently Office Manager. Throughout her career at ECS, she worked at the reception where she began her duties, later moving on to become an executive assistant. David Santos

Managing Director

David joined ECS in 2009 and is a Managing Director in the real estate team. During his tenure at ECS, he was responsible for multiple transactions across hospitality, real estate and special situations, and led several asset management initiatives across the hospitality portfolio. Prior to joining ECS, David was a Consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, delivering strategy and organizational development projects mainly in the Financial Services and Energy Sectors, in Portugal, France, Italy and Spain. David holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, an MBA from INSEAD (Dean’s List), and an Advanced Certification in Real Estate and Hotel Investment from the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.

Senior Advisor - Real Estate

Fernando is a Senior Advisor to ECS focusing on the real estate sector. His prior experience includes leading the real estate development team for a global proptech business in the Andean Region. Before that, he was the CFO at AMS, an energy storage pioneer based out of San Francisco, California. He was also involved in growing Veritas Investments into one of the largest multifamily investors in San Francisco, California. Fernando holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from Duke University.

Francisco Vieira de Campos

Before this, he was a member of Deloitte’s Corporate Finance team in Madrid and Lisbon, focusing on M&A and Valuations. Gonçalo holds an Economics degree from Nova - School of Business and Economics, Lisbon and a MBA from IE Business School, Madrid, with a Beta Gamma Sigma’s distinction.

Additionally, he was involved in the exit of several real estate and hospitality assets. Prior to ECS, Gonçalo had gathered valuable experience through internships at various organizations, including Sonae Sierra, Banco BiG, EDP, and Expand Capital. During these experiences, he gained exposure to diverse industries, including private equity, transaction advisory, venture capital, and real estate. Gonçalo holds a bachelor’s degree in management and a master's in finance from Nova School of Business and Economics.

She has mainly been collaborating in the monitoring of Industrial companies under management; the divestment of hospitality assets; the analysis of new business opportunities in the hospitality and real estate sectors; the tracking and reporting of the portfolio’s overall performance. Before joining ECS, Inês was part of the Investment Team of a Venture Capital firm named Adara Ventures in Madrid. She also worked for one year in Private Banking at Edmond de Rothschild in Lisbon. Inês holds a bachelor’s degree in Management from NOVA School of Business and Economics, Lisbon, and a master’s in Finance from ESADE Business School, Barcelona.

He also served as Co-founder and Managing Director at a family-owned company focusing on agribusiness. José Maria started his career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s London office, where he worked as an analyst in the investment banking division. José Maria holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from the Warwick Business School, where he graduated with 1st Class Honors (Distinction), and a Master's in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Her prior experience includes serving as Financial Controller at Grupo Águas de Portugal, where she was responsible for business controlling at several group entities, including the holding. She started her career as an intern at the European Commission in Brussels, subsequently transitioning to work as a Project Manager for EU Funds, in Lisbon. Maria João holds an Economics degree from the University of Coimbra, an Executive MBA from ISCTE and a postgraduate qualification in Compliance from the Instituto Superior de Gestão Bancária.

Her main responsibilities are coordinating and overseeing the management and financial reporting of ECS’s largest fund, as well as consolidated treasury and debt control. Mariana’s main stakeholders are the fund’s investors and financing banks. Before joining ECS, she spent several years assisting different companies in the development and implementation of organic and inorganic growth plans (M&A) and supporting Executive Management and Board teams in financial analysis and strategic decision taking. First working at Deloitte Corporate Finance and later in several pharmaceutical companies. She started her professional career as a strategic consultant at Deloitte, after having enrolled in a Part-Time Trainee Program at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. Mariana has a degree in management from Nova SBE and concluded The Lisbon MBA, at Nova, Católica and MIT.

Throughout her career at ECS, she’s been directly responsible for preparing, managing and liaising with external and internal entities in a vast multitude of areas, such as: budgeting forecasting, reporting, billing, human resources, insurance, banking, intercompany transactions and financing. She’s also been involved in different projects in order to improve and optimize operating processes. In her past experience she performed controller roles in construction companies like Turiprojecto S.A. and Contrusan S.A.. She started her career with an IPJ internship in CEPSA S.A., as part of the budgeting and treasury process team. Mónica holds a management degree from Instituto Politécnico de Tomar business school.

Before joining ECS, he spent 20 years in the Design Development industry in multiple roles, in residential and hospitality developments across the UK, China, the Middle East and Europe. He started his professional career as an architect before transitioning into client-side leadership roles, notably with MGM Resorts International. Pedro has spearheaded several complex development projects, managing internal and consultant teams from inception to delivery, including major group Integrated Resorts projects. Pedro holds a degree in Architecture from FAUL and concluded the Lisbon EMBA, at Nova, Católica and MIT.

Olinda joined ECS as an assistant. Previously, she worked as Administrative Accountant Officer at Powershield and before that, she worked as a Secretary at STC, a company part of the Trivalor Group. Olinda has obtained technical training in Secretarial / Administrative Assistant and Accounting.

Pedro is a Senior Advisor to ECS focusing on energy transition infrastructure. Before joining ECS, Pedro was a Partner-level investment professional and advisor across Europe and Latam with Exus Partners, Boston Consulting Group and Roland Berger. During his tenure, Pedro successfully designed and implemented investment strategies and value creation initiatives in real assets. He also provided strategic leadership, adequate governance structures, and fostered a culture of excellence. Pedro has extensive experience in M&A and fundraising, having originated and executed deals ranging from USD 100m to USD 1.0bn in equity, from origination to investment committee preparation, SPA negotiation and closing, to integration and value creation at company and asset level. Pedro holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Business Management degree from Universidade Católica Portuguesa.

Rafael Ramos Ferreira

Legal Counsel

Rafael is a lawyer and a member of ECS’s legal team. Prior to joining ECS, Rafael worked as an Associate Lawyer at LS Global Law Firm and was a member of Antas da Cunha Ecija & Associados legal team, working primarily in Corporate M&A and Real Estate law matters. As part of his professional experience, Rafael has advised domestic and international clients in several real estate transactions and on the development of real estate projects (retail, residential and tourism). Additionally, he assisted in commercial and corporate matters, due diligence, asset and corporate restructurings in sectors such as real estate, shopping centers, tourism, agribusiness, and shipbuilding, as well as corporate housekeeping of various SME’s. Rafael holds a Law degree from the Faculty of Law – University of Lisbon, and a Masters in Tax and Finance, as well as a Post-Graduation in Corporate Law.

Rafael is a lawyer and a member of ECS’s legal team. Prior to joining ECS, Rafael worked as an Associate Lawyer at LS Global Law Firm and was a member of Antas da Cunha Ecija & Associados legal team, working primarily in Corporate M&A and Real Estate law matters. Teresa Montalvão

Principal

Teresa joined ECS in 2013 as an Analyst and is currently a Principal at the firm. At ECS, her experience started with structuring, executing, and managing turnaround, insolvency and restructuring private equity deals in the Portuguese market. In recent years, she has consolidated vast experience in the development, licensing, operation and management of real estate assets. Currently, she is responsible for the capex deployment of the residential and hospitality portfolio and for ensuring funding needs and sources, including the need to use capex financing facilities. Teresa also plays an active role in the disposal of the portfolio’s non-core assets. Prior to joining ECS, she worked at UBS as part of the Global Asset Management team, based in Madrid, where she conducted performance analysis of a range of investment products with the aim of advising clients. She started her career as a civil engineer, more specifically, as a structural designer of large-scale buildings of all types of uses at one of the most well-known companies in Portugal. Teresa holds a Master’s in International Management from IE Business School and a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico.

Tomás is an Analyst at ECS. During his tenure, he has been involved in various initiatives, including recovery, rebranding, renovations, and organizational restructuring efforts in the hospitality portfolio, sales process of non-core real estate assets, monitoring ongoing investments in the industrial and energy portfolio, and developing new business initiatives. Before joining ECS, Tomás worked as an Aerospace Engineer, a Risk Analyst at an international investment bank, and a consultant at BCG Lisbon. He holds a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (2020) and Post-Graduate Degree in Financial Markets and Risks at NOVA IMS (2021).
